If y’all coming in here to hate on the dude, this is not a thread for that (or at least those are not my intentions). I don’t mind him. His music is not bad, he actually tries to rap conventionally (sorry, I’m not truly an *old head, but yea i still like rappers that rap (not intended to be shade btw, like what you like)), and also just feels like he’s a genuinely nice guy (I could totally be wrong since i don’t know him Obviously).

I just feel like his rapping is mid in the sense that it isn’t great or terrible. It’s just whatever. One could even say that it’s arguably forgettable. Every time I listen to a Jack Harlow song, I am never impressed with the writing. Wordplay is always extremely subpar (if non-existent) and dude has the same flow all the time it seems. Am I missing something?

Also, nothing wrong with liking “mid” rappers. Dom Kennedy is one of my favorite rappers and dude has been mid for a very long time at this point. I still enjoy his stuff. It is what it is

He could be fire one day. But rn he’s not bad but he’s not great either. I see the appeal though

He raps just like Drake on a lot of his better songs so I fail to see why suddenly it’s not allowed.

I don’t think he’s mid, he just blew up so fast. Like he hasn’t time to build his skill or sound up with something like mixtapes. So he’s judged like an experienced rapper.

just pop rap so not really supposed to be ground breaking is it?

He's a watered down Drake but pretty okay. He makes tolerable music and young girls like him.

Basically, he has average music but top tier marketability.

he was great on industry baby and first class isn't bad either but he needs more time

  • Yes

People tend to forget about Asher Roth but Jack Harlow reminds me a lot of him

  • He had to water down and change his image in order to reach a mainstream audience

I don't think he's anyone's favorite rapper but he could rap

This sounds ridiculously uninformed. I'm not a big Jack fan but he's been putting in work forever. Has plenty of mixtapes

No strong feelings towards him. I don’t listen to him but I think he has a nice flow and has some clever lines. I think it’s cool when a guy in the current era can make a bunch of hits without a melodic singing flow or any auto tune, I think he understands how to appeal to pop listeners without that which is impressive. I’ve never been annoyed by any of his music when it’s playing in public or anything.

Just cause he put out a lot of work doesn’t mean he’s mastered his craft yet

Yea I agree with everything here except the flows part. I feel like he doesn’t experiment enough. He has so much time to grow though so it’s not a huge issue. I enjoy hearing his music when I’m at a function or something
