Reread it on another site but as I’ve said in regards to all serious allegations ( this one she said is on video too ). Press charges reach settlement get justice and peace of mind . Money doesn’t change that what he did is deeply reprehensible

I know people who are literally struggling to eat right now, I'm sorry that a celebrity being a s***ty person doesn't upend my life

Imagine holding 2 ideas of thought in that noggin

  • shaleirose

In 50 years when I'm with my grandkids I'm not gonna be thinking about Kanye West's antisemitic rants in the early 2020s, I'm just not

Nor am I going to be thinking of any other celebrity's moral failings either

    So real

That's such an overtly charitable way to look at the statement lol idk what it is about ye that makes people pull such mental gymnastics whenever he says something

i didn't do any mental gymnastic lol

    that's how i interpreted it

if you identify with something outside of yourself, you're a victim to it and that's what i got from the slavery is a choice comment

if I identify with chattel slavery, I’m a victim to racism? So I should just not identify with it cause racism doesn’t exist?

I’m just tryna clarify what you mean lmfao

not defending any of this but the slavery is a choice moment aged well he was lowkey spitting but his delivery was horrible

edit: he wasn't lowkey spitting that's a bad choice of words. i just understand (regardless of it was his intention or not) what he is saying and never interpreted it as him being literal

    Lowkey spitting?!

i think you perpetuate your own suffering by overly (should've specified that in original comment) identifying with things outside of yourself

imo no matter how you flip it, every moment is a chance to show up as someone new, regardless of what may have happened in the past. i understand this is probably an extremely naive/optimistic way to look at it but i believe the most important stories are the ones we tell ourselves

perhaps a better way of looking at it is that as human we can't help but be victims to things but the distinction is that we get to choose what we're a victim to. are you going to be a victim to something that serves you or doesn't?

mmmm i kinda just interpreted it now as him saying we choose what we want to be a victim to

i don't believe he meant actual slavery was a choice more so the way we choose to be slaves to things that don't serve us

To make myself clear. Of course I know that slaves did not get shackled and put on a boat by free will. My point is for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved.”

It’s possible to identify slavery happened and was outright terrible without centering your life on it .
