Nowhere near is very harsh. He is definitely in the convo
its hard to put him in the convo with Wayne, Ye and others personally but he definitely is the top of his peers rn
Drake the only other competitor and honestly it depends on how the next few years go for them
Stopped reading when you suggested he's better than Wayne
But he is better than Wayne
But he is better than Wayne
no.
to be fair the dude you’re replying to is just using Wayne as a prop to argue against Kendrick anyways, he isn’t even a fan
guarantee you he thinks Drake is better than Wayne
wayne is a little too influential and birthed too many styles to just be cast aside so readily for kendrick on an all time list
kendrick’s discog clears wayne’s easily but i don’t think im taking him as a straight up rapper over wayne in his prime, he was a flawless blend of wordplay, charisma, brilliant delivery and was pioneering new vocal styles that you still hear in today’s hip-hop

What makes it hard to put him in the convo with them? He has around 3 classic albums with 2 of them that will be in many peoples top 5 to top 10 of all time.
Won one of the biggest rap battles of all time.
Had the anthem for black protests, and is in the top 2 artists of his generation in terms of profile and popularity.
That puts him in the convo imo, unless you are talking about longevity, but I dont think that matters too much, and is why Biggie can be considered the goat.

Influence on the scale of those mentioned to answer your question

He doesn't have their influence I agree. Its always gonna be subjective but I dont think it makes him not in the convo

That plays a huge factor when combined with everything else imo

just cause that nigga don't flood the market don't mean he doesn't rap, he's over him imo, Wayne flopped with his second wind, kendrick is restrained with his output, and it hurts him in conversations like these but a nigga saying he still competing with drake itt, nah I don't trust yall

i never cited his output though, im citing influence and overall stature in the game lol
wayne putting out a lot of high quality s*** in his prime is a bonus but that’s not what im staking it on at all, wayne has shown a plethora of styles and an ability to do borderline any sort of rap imaginable, that’s not to say Kendrick can’t but Wayne was just tapped into way more sounds and was way more of a trailblazer in general
i wouldn’t object too hard if someone has him over wayne in an all time list but i’d have my reservations, besides that i don’t really care about what an artist does outside of their prime if im being honest for an all time list, i care about what they did at the peak of their artistry, longevity isn’t something i weigh really heavily at all

Mmmh well then if you talking prime, 2015/2016 kendrick, no one could f*** with him but Wayne had a longer peak admittedly and Wayne rapped his ass off, I guess I'm considering the bigger picture. To me kendrick and Wayne are a beautiful juxtaposition of everything from styles to output but Ig that's a different topic. Ig I ain't mad with putting Wayne over dot but the problem in these lists, Wayne is the first nigga to be counted outside the top 5 in favor of biggie annem , I remember you said you discount biggie but even excluding him it's a good five niggas that get chosen over Wayne so I don't see him as essential in the long run as compared to dot
