Underrated.
It's been 15 years but most non hip-hop fans STILL view lil wayne like this:
He's not appreciated enough until EVERYONE knows he is one of the greatest rappers, regardless of whether they listen to hip-hop or not
He's the greatest rapper of all time.
anything short of saying he’s the greatest rapper ever is underrating him
🗣🗣
Underrated easily.
He's outbarred many of people's favorite rappers, stayed hot for over 3 decades, has the sales/hits, has a lot of witty wordplay/lyrics, has a diversity of flows, has immense influence on hip hop, has one of the best mixtape runs of all time in which people checked for Wayne's rendition over the real song.
Wayne gets disrespected way too much. Not as much as 09-13 where the hate for him was at an all time high on social media but his impact and talent gets downplayed.
Even the recent claim that Ebro made about 50 washing Wayne in a Verzuz proves that. I mean....I love 50 too but they're at 2 totally different statures career and rap wise.
he’s rated exactly where he should be
incredible run you had to be there for but his discography isn’t flawless with a lot of his best verses on mixtapes and features that you have to do some digging to hear these days
so it’s not hard to understand why his name might not be the very first brought up when mentioning GOAT
anything short of saying he’s the greatest rapper ever is underrating him
as an artist in the grand scheme of things? probably underrated. feel like he’s one of the best rappers that only certain people can appreciate as a whole
Wayne is a underrated rapper
Goat fr doesn’t even write
So does hov and biggie but they just make more sense when they rap
