I’m a sophomore in college and I’ve been doing online this year so I’ve been working part time at this local grocery store.

Last Wednesday I got tested for Covid because I was supposed to go see my girl this week so I just wanted to be safe, and it turned out I was positive. Still don’t really know how I got it because I only go from work to home and I always have a mask on whenever I leave my place.

I’ve been symptomless up to this point, so the doctor said I only have to quarantine until this Saturday. So I checked my work schedule and I was still scheduled for this Wednesday and Thursday, so I called my job to let them know it was a mistake, and then I asked if I had to test negative before returning to work next week, and they said I don’t have to :word:

Mind you I work in the deli department, so all day I’m handling food to give to primarily older people. So I’m like that doesn’t seem too safe to me especially since I heard that it can linger in your system after the initial 10 days.

Is my job tripping or is it safe to be around others immediately after the isolation period without another test confirming you’re negative?

  • Dec 21, 2020

yeah i'd say just stay home, even if ur asymptomatic theres still potential for folks to catch stuff. work definitely bein reckless

  • Dec 21, 2020

    Nah don't go to work

  • Dec 21, 2020

please don’t go. they are tripping. you could probably report them anonymously or sue em for a bag

  • Dec 21, 2020

Seems like they're just trusting your word and don't really have any covid safety protocols in place.

    Oh hell naw

I just called the same urgent care I got tested at and they told me I don’t have to test again because after the isolation period I’m no longer contagious, and I can possibly test positive for up to three months because of the dead Covid cells in my system

  • At my place of work they require the negative test but at my girls work they don't

I think it's reckless especially since tests are free aren't they?
