Also, Nicki's music is bigger overseas than a lot of female rappers' music and that includes Cardi.

it's going to age way better than cardi b and meg

It's not going to age better than Cardi's.

Cardi's debut is better than any album in Nicki's Discography srs.

She's undoubtedly a legend and she'll have some songs that'll age well,

but by and large no one will go back and ever say her albums are like, classic Hip-Hop LP's in a traditional sense.

She herself, is classic. Her albums? Not so much.

Moment 4 Life still sounds as good as it did in 2010

As much as this vaccine thing is starting to spiral out of control (the #FreeNicki hashtag on Twitter is cancerous rn)

Nicki's obviously cemented herself as a legend. There's no denying it. PF, PP, and IMO Queen are fantastic albums and she's delivered countless great guest verses from Monster to Whole Lotta Money. More than that, though, she paved the way for the female rapper of the 2020s - a woman who, unlike female rappers in the 00s and 90s, can both deliver traditional rap and experiment without having their authenticity questioned at every turn.

Yes, there are still people who will s*** on Cardi and Megan for "sexualizing their music" like that hasn't happened from the male perspective for decades even outside of rap. But the acceptance of their styles and sounds in the rap game and pop charts stems from a generation who grew up with Nicki. Sometimes it takes a person with unwavering self-conviction to completely reshape a genre by excelling at it. See, for example, a certain other legendary rapper that this site is named after.

I'm personally not about to go back and bump a good amount of stuff on her earlier albums just because my taste isn't really in the same space it was a decade ago, but I'll be goddamned if I don't get excited every time I hear Super Bass.

Before Verzuz, people said the same about Jadakiss.

And it would have been and is true. Jada's verzus performance just has him hot for the moment.

A lot of things before Queen are aging well.

Let's not pretend that she wasn't dominating and creating great music.

It was already sub-par from the start tbh

Even when they came out her albums were never really looked at that fondly

None of her albums got the abundance of love ppl show cardis first album for whatever reason

Nicki was just too early to the game. She showed up to a cultural/political climate that wasn’t ready for her.

Cardi and Meg dropped at a time when the industry was dying to champion some sex-positive women of color. Just luck of the draw and good timing.

  • Cardi B is simply better than Nicki.

Nicki music was outdated in 2015
