Led Zeppelin is one of the most famous and best selling rock bands of all time, but their career has been marred by accusations that they’ve stolen music from other artists. Enter O-Rod, the Zeppelin of the 2020s, rising fast in popularity with her debut album SOUR, but she has also been accused of building her music off of other artists.

Some examples:

Paramore- Had to adjust writing credits on “Good 4 u” to include Hayley Williams as the song was alleged to interpolate Paramore’s “Misery Business”

Elvis Costello- Rodrigo was accused of co-opting a guitar riff from Costello's song "Pump It Up" on her single "Brutal."

Courtney Love- Love posted on Instagram with the caption: "Spot the Difference! #twinning" in an effort to note the similarities to Hole's Live Through This album cover from 1994. Rodrigo acknowledged the similarities herself.

Taylor Swift- similarities between a couple of her songs and Swift's tracks have been made to the point that Swift and others were credited as writers to those two songs from Rodrigo.

Pom Pom Squad- Rodrigo has also been accused of copying the album artwork of Death of a Cheerleader from Pom Pom Squad, an indie rock band from Brooklyn.

And then there’s Led Zeppelin:

Stairway to Heaven- Stole opening riff from the song “Taurus” by Spirit.

Dazed and Confused- Song origin is actually singer-songwriter Jake Holmes, who included it on his 1967 album “The Above Ground Sound” of Jake Holmes. Jimmy Page has claimed to be unaware of Holmes’ song, but the title and much of the music are unmistakably the same.

Whole Lotta Love- Page quoted from “You Need Love,” a song written by Willie Dixon and sung by Muddy Waters in 1962. (Dixon sued in 1985, settled out of court, and is now listed as co-writer.)

The Lemon Song: The lyrics originate from Robert Johnson’s “Traveling Riverside Blues”, this song owes more to Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor.” A lawsuit followed and the band now credits Chester Burnett (Howlin’ Wolf’s real name) as co-author.
