mumble rap literally doesn't exist its a term old white people and dust heads made up bc they can't understand how southern rappers talk, and pierre definitely isn't a mumble rapper even by "mumble rap" standards.

if we're calling anybody a mumble rapper in this situation it's probably kanye considering his last 3 projects sound like and basically are unfinished demos

Yall gotta learn how to debate without catching feelings and falling on boring tropes to defend your opinions.

No one made mumble rap over southern rappers it was southern rappers for years going.

Certain southern rappers and alot of online niggas rapped a certain way and it became the term.

Im saying if you're bar is Pierre level raps Idk how Kanye bars are somehow worse.

If Pierre is considered a good rapper Ye has to still be elite

nobody goes to pierre for good drums

but it straight up sounds like a pierre melody so regardless of who did the melody he def influenced it, and his name still attached regardless

when's the last time ye had a good solo produced beat ??

Ye's last great solo beats were on Daytona: If You Know You Know, What Would Meek Do, Infrared. Might be missing one or two since then, but those were definitely fire.

  • Mar 24, 2020

    JIK was aoty 2019

Melody doesn’t sound Pierre inspired to me, it sounds video gamey, which is definitely Pierre’s style, but Pierre isn’t the first producer to introduce that style by any means

The on god melody is from a sample pack lol

Also Pierre is heavily inspired by video game music. In an interview he stated he listened to a bunch of video game soundtracks like street fighter and said something like damn beat makers can’t make s*** like that. these video game composers are on another level

If Ye dropped an album that sounded exactly like Coachella Sunday Service, with all the funk, spiritual jazz and spacey ambient passages, it would be monumental.

On God sample. I’m not against throwing drums on samples cause that’s all I do sometimes but Pierre’s drums were super weak. On God beat could’ve been on a way higher level with someone else programming the drums

Pierre has plenty of songs that hit much harder it was definitely an artistic choice

not catching feelings i just think mumble rap is the dumbest term and never fits who people attach it to.

i said he's better than 2018-2019 ye which i think is 100% true, and i think pierre is a s*** rapper, so to me that just shows how much kanye has fallen off not only lyrically but flow wise. he's easily the worst part of every song he's on now.

but everything TLOP and before i definitely think ye is better and there's no question. pierre could never make no more parties in la.

  • Mar 24, 2020

terrible comparison. tlop4 still hard though

and the prod on JIK was solid

  • Mar 24, 2020

No b, JIK is another path on the artistic evolution of ye, Y’all just hate to see a nigga happy

And it’s a good project, Ye hasn’t been that much of a Spiritual lyrical rapper, But he’s better than Pierre fr, Pierre should stick to be a producer tbh

But like what bars has Pierre spit lyrically or depth wise near Hands On? Or even Selah?

    This begs the question.

What was the 2019 aoty? TLOP4 or JIK?

Im have to go w TLOP4. You can really feel the soul in the production. Maybe if Ye kept Yandhi then it wouldve been not only AOTY but one of his best albums also. Smh
