Carti is even more volatile somehow so I don't see it going well

  • Dec 10, 2021

Kind of crazy how long Carti has maintained the image of fashionable dark horse while doing features for Drake, Kanye, and Trav.

Do you know how much money is made from bar mitzvahs

Do you know how much money is made from business ventures with a company like McDonalds?

Read the comment I was replying to

  • Gayboi Farti better step his mainstream appeal up before I snatch him all to myself....

The difference is being paid 50-70k to go to a family party for an hour vs being a corporate puppet for god knows how much

One is a simple service for a private purpose and the other is shilling yourself out to the soulless corporate machine

What did Travis have to do for McDonalds after showing up on the ads? Or Fortnite after the concert?

The only difference is size, which affects both the popularity of the sellout activity (see Travis becoming a meme for stupid brand collabs) and the size of the bag (Travis made tens of millions for those crossovers)

edit: I misread your comment and thought you said "how long" instead of "how much". Still though I don't get how getting way more money is really a knock against travis it's the same idea

    Nah

Carti ain't a sellout like Travis

You will never see him jiggin and jiving for happy meals or fortnite like travis was

He cool with the cult base he has. He's too experimental for mainstream

This is super easy to say when he probably hasn’t even been approached by McDonald’s or any other big company to do a deal

Like you’ve been given no reason to believe he wouldn’t do any of the s*** Travis has yet u say this like it’s fact

  • Dec 10, 2021

But yeah I think they’re having some similarities in their appeal these days. Travis came up being championed for his really fun live shows, now Carti is being praised for the same thing even though Travis is miles ahead of him as a performer, at no fault of Carti’s though because of his asthma

No, he deadass can't rap. Like at all.

    Which one

    The Wizard

i hope not, trav music went downhill as soon he became super mainstream. He started releasing the most uninspired and boring music i've ever heard.

  • Dec 10, 2021

Im convinced Carti fandom is just a bunch of white kids that went to private school with him

  • Dec 10, 2021

According to spotify trav is like 2.5 times more popular than carti so no lol

Both carried by production and overhyped by white teens

Doesnt that just further solidify my point?

Said this in a previous thread. They practically cater to the same audience

    There’s some truth to this

  • Dec 10, 2021

He could tbh. Both songs are much bigger than they are because of Drake and Kendrick especially sicko mode

Once he released antidote, it was downhill from there even though it’s a banger

    Y’all are delusional

  • Dec 10, 2021

Yall doubt how much production carries artists?

  • Carti is nowhere near as good at crafting a song lol. He’s a niche artist who has some crossover appeal that’s it.

  • Dec 10, 2021

No and don't want him to. He's a true artist, not an opportunistic brand machine.

I've seen a lot of anti-Travis memes posted by Carti stans though.

    Did they beef or something?

No but there is a strong sense of condemnation by parts of his fanbase, I think they look down on him for not being experimental enough anymore or something, not sure what’s any other reason
