Half of Jesus Walks was written by someone else yet he also nailed that performance. Because he's been performing that song even THROUGHOUT his JIK era. It never left his live catalogue, even performing during Sunday Service.

He rapped his Hurricane verse well, he did Come To Life very well.

Not to mention, Kanye has always forgotten lyrics during live sets. Like, literally ever since School Spirit Tour. The difference is that he had the breath control and technical ability to freestyle and fill in the blanks. He's way too old and has way too many songs to remember nowadays to do that.
