dude don't compare sign o the times to f***ing mbdtf. it's like comparing... well, Prince to kanye west. Prince quite literally has more talent in his pinky finger than ye has, will ever have and has ever had in his whole body. like do you have any idea what that man could do, musically and not, with just his pinky finger

i only used it because MBDTF is often said to be the best album ever

they say that about sgt pepper and that's not even the best beatles album and is overall a pretty mediocre and uneven album from literally the most overrated band in musical history. sign o the times is a masterwork from to back it makes those other albums look like hot uninspired trash

Personal opinion: “Come” + “The Gold Experience” (all the configurations combined) + all the other outtakes > “Sign o’ the Times” and “Purple Rain” combined.
