The beatmakers of today know nothing about theory or how to make anything without a two-bar, three note loop and a massive 808 being the lead sound in the production. They couldn't make the Neptunes style if they wanted to tbh.

None of Chad's solo production was good but no one is ready to have that conversation... Yet they're quick to comment "don't forget about Chad!" or "Chad was the sauce" on every single Pharrell social media post on the internet. Pharrell has way more great solo production material and it's not close.
