Yes it was, I still remember the hype for that album, never seen so many kanye fans pop up out of no where. But tidal f***ed him. It would have sold at least 600k if it was a proper stream release. Didn’t it win a record for most illegally downloaded album or some s***?

Yea, the era was his biggest in terms of popularity and hype. The music and merch was absolutely everywhere. It went double platinum and did huge streaming numbers despite having it being available to pirate originally and then a tidal exclusive for months before it was on spotify, and it was not available to purchase at all which was still rare at the time. If it had a proper rollout and a single or two it could have done Scorpion numbers. NWTS numbers at least

you a real one, TLOP was revolutionary for the streaming game and rap as a whole. it was the first album to go number one with a majority of its sales from streaming, and it started the trend of adding songs/features to albums after they were released.
