Title. Other than Drake, None of music videos from big name artists this year have garnered many views compared to previous years

Is the rising accesbility of streaming responsible for this? Or do people not really care anymore>?

Music videos were way more popular 3+ years ago because before Spotify/Apple Music, many people used YouTube to stream songs. Now that we have Spotify/Apple many people don't primarily go to YouTube to listen to music anymore.

Music videos will always be a factor though. They're going to be watched by fans, they have the potential to go viral and really promote the music, and they will always be talked about regardless. BTS did 100 million views in a day, and had the fastest-viewed music video ever. They're still a necessary tool and still hugely popular.

  • Idk but POPSTAR is top 5 video, OF ALL TIME

It’s different now but it’s still important to develop your brand

And even if what you said was true, artists would be the reason videos have less views nowadays cause these mfs would make 15 minutes long videos with a lame ass plot for a 3 minutes long club banger that trend had to stop

Yeah in Latin America/Asia it's still pretty huge because most people can't afford to pay for streaming so they still use YouTube to listen to music for free. In America/Europe it declined once Apple Music/Spotify took off though.

In America sure. But music videos are still important in Latin America, Asia, Africa, and Europe which is why some of these global artists have insane YouTube views.
