aside from what you mentioned, evolutionarily, women are the nurturers, men are the protectors / spreaders

men’s goal at the biological level is to spread their seed so humanity can survive (multiply), for women it is to nurture and take care of the seed so they can be productive

this is why normally (among other reasons) the woman gets custody of the child and the man is left out, for better or for worse

Yea an abusive two parent household is far worse than your average single parent household that’s for sure. Especially in terms of mental health rather than economics. But unless OP edited the topic I’d say those are two very different issues.
