Been watching a lot of the recent Drake vids, and man, the aesthetic is crazy. Each with their own feel that is perfectly suited for the song, each very sleek but still authentic. The black and white in 'Nonstop' and 'Money in the Grave', especially. The visuals are really top-notch.

shooting on film is a pain in the ass and takes a lot of pre pro to do so he can't just stitch together a bunch of b roll that he shot in one day like most music video directors.

Yeah, the look is distinctively cinematic in ways that a lot of music videos aren't right now.
