Like they're the exact same kinda thing, and there's clearly some overlap there but I can't f***ing get into that tolkien s*** for the life of me. It was a chore getting through fellowship of the ring, and I stopped watching rings of power after the first ep.

Meanwhile I've rewatched Game of Thrones like 3 times, and I'm about to watch House of the Dragon again.

Anyone else f*** with one and not the other?

Aside from being medieval fantasy settings they're pretty different

ASOIAF is better that might be the reason

    I’m the exact same way

The fantasy genre you prefer is known as Grim Dark. LOTR is classified as High Fantasy

    you like looking at p****es?

  • LOTR is lighter fantasy but GOT is pretty dark through and through. I enjoyed Peter Jackson's original trilogy, never seen Rings of Power after hearing it's mid.

My problem is that I just can't get into any Fantasy books but I'll watch fantasy shows no problem.

Fellowship of the Ring is kinda like one long first act. The next 2 movies are way better imo

While GOT may be more adult oriented with gore and nudity LOTR action scenes blow it out of the water

Two Towers is the best one IMO

Well ring of power is ass, even if one likes LOTR they might not like rings of power

But you might just prefer darker fantasy is all

  • May 6, 2023

It's because GOT is like watching real people in a fantasy world while LOTR is told like a classical movie story in a fantasy world. Hence the dialogues are completey different and stuff we see is portrait in a different way.

fantasy doesn't have to be grounded for me to like it honestly. It's just something about LoTR man..

It could be the characters. GOT may have the more grounded and relatable characters
