In year, Drake is gonna be in a committed relationship, that is for sure, and his subject matter is also gonna change and his whole “hello fellow kids” thing is gonna change.
    He is gonna crow up

According to the law mj accusers had no proof but it still drastically altered his career lol

Mj also had to go go to court, hired lawyers and that stuff was televised. Numerous cases had the media following him. lol k dot made one song and everyone just rolls with it like sheep.

Just drop some bangers and people won‘t care

    Nah they’ll care.

People aren’t really feeling Drake right now. The public perception definitely has changed. Ghostwriting allegations were one thing, but pedo allegations are a permanent stain.

He’ll be like R. Kelly before jail. Still popular and will make great songs, but the jokes and comments will always be there moving forward.

Any mention of a girl in his song and people will make jokes/comments.

This beef definitely did some damage to Drake’s brand

Was talking to my boy about this

I think that’s the one allegation that people don’t get adhd about

Very disgusting of Kendrick to sink that low

Yeah like, Drake is probably in my top 3 all time and now when I’m playing his songs I’m just like, “Damn…😕”

Not because they aren’t good songs, but because the feeling isn’t the same anymore.

It used to be you could bump a Drake song in your car or at a party and everyone would be lit. Now people’s responses are like 🤨😒🙄

I’ve said this before, but he really needs a total rebrand. The sexy boy, nail polish, berets in the hair isn’t gonna work anymore. He needs to get more serious and drop more mature content.

He's gonna pull some PR trick off that will garner public sympathy and people will call the whole beef dumb and just say lets focus on music and he'll drop some stuff that's softer and the people will move on

The shooting and the store vandalism was the first PR trick

He needs to drop a short concise album with the most aggression he’s ever had. Just come out swinging

    No caption bait
No worrying about if it’s catchy

    Just bars, clips, ammo!

strictly speaking, this could be a great moment in his career if he played it correctly. one of the biggest complaints of the past few years was he was "too comfortable" and "sounded uninspired" - especially because his image was becoming saturated and seen as stagnant or unfavorable
if he was to go off the map for awhile to the point where everyone is like "oh he dropped off the map because he lost", it would create some mystique to his disappearance as well as put him in a situation he hasn't been since his early career - being the underdog.
if he came back with a IYRTITL level album after that disappearance and with that context above (and a good PR campaign to boot), he could arguably bump his career above where it is even now

I was thinking about this last night.
This could cave good for him. He needed to be humbled (no pun intended). He was way too comfortable.

I just don’t see how you beat pedo allegations tho.

    R. Kelly made AMAZING music and the jokes were still there.

Unless there’s an actual case or receipts ppl will not care outside of a few jokes

    Pedo jokes are lethal tho.

listen unless there's cases that are filed or allegations made from women nothing will change drake and his success. most people understand it's just rap and they both went to a wild place just to get a win and get under each others skin

after meek the ghostwriting thing was everywhere, after pusha the hidden child thing was everywhere, now this is everywhere. it's a cycle because this is the biggest thing in the news right now. after a few months people will move on

Ghostwriting and hiding a child are nowhere near as bad a pedo allegations

    Drake will be fine
    A hit record fixes everything

Those were hits because people also liked Drake.

People don’t like Drake right now, so a hit won’t fix everything.

Some of y’all are way too optimistic. Drake’s career will absolutely not be the same moving forward

  • May 9, 2024

There is no scenario where a hit song or an extended hiatus erases this stain from people’s minds.

The Pusha L was different because the worst thing that happened was that he was outed as a father, nobody was gonna stop listening to him over that.

There will be people that stop listening to Drake over these allegations, whether they ever get officially confirmed or not

Nobody is bouncing back from pedophile claims in 2024. It’s just not happening.

He’s not gonna fall off the face of the earth, but the days of him selling 400K/500K+ first week are over.

Kendrick has forever tarnished his reputation and legacy

A serious relationship might be one of the best moves for his career rn tbh. And probably good for him at this stage of life

The allegations tied to his name right now are 1000% more serious than anything tied to his name as a result of the Meek and Pusha beefs.

His career will forever be stained by this

I love watching the turnaround from all of the Drake stans from 2 weeks ago til now. Hopefully Drake and his stanbase are truly humbled by this L. Y'all really believed his ''Tough Guy Mob Boss" persona : Nigga looks like a straight fraud clown to the public now. Kendrick picked him apart so strategically. He better off sticking to making pop girly records now.

good music always prevails. people said this about Jay Z with Nas too

Drake went up against someone that is pretty much universally liked which resulted in group think from people who arent even interested in rap at all, they just see misinformation on the timeline with likes and agree with it

Drake makes great music that's truly undeniable. He'll be perfectly fine. He's already a superstar. Once you get to this level there's no going backwards

Eeeeh. I don't think he's dropped a truly great album since 2013 personally.
    He's a singles artist.

He'll always have a hit or two. Jay also had a lot more going for him. More consistent catalog. He was generally highly respected in the hiphop space. Had a few younger artist under him that were big(Kanye, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, etc.). His marriage with Beyoncé. Drake's position in the hip-hop space has ALWAYS been questioned by hip-hop heads. He doesn't have as many universally agreed upon classics. None of his artist are really popping. Etc.

Also, Jay's beef with Nas isn't comparable. Drake and Kendrick's beef lead to hefty allegations being thrown around. Pedo, or not, Drake legitimately has tons of documented interactions with children that are weird and questionable at best. And ppl aren't just gonna forget that.

you're insane lmao, if what you're saying is true then there'd already be massive drop offs in his daily streaming numbers, but so far they haven't changed at all.

Are you guys in here bots?

Show me factual information that people aren't feeling Drake. I'm looking at the streaming numbers and they haven't changed yesterday v 4 weeks ago.

You're just being an emotional doomsday dumbass, or a bot.

  • for a future project I'd like to see drake do fewer songs about being on top and beefing. maybe write about the people around him more or what he's observing beyond himself

    he deserves a break tho
