After he lost to Pusha T, drake dropped four #1s in a row (including sicko mode) and a #2.

Kendrick is a bigger, worthier opponent and the public perception is definitely not in Drake's favor

Will this make it harder for drake to continue churning out hits? Is he cooked? Even Drake's last response has more dislikes than likes.

Can Drake's career be saved with more hits? I always say "every artist is one hit away from relevance". In 2024, does this apply to Drake?

    Can he recover from this?

    discuss

Yes release a hit diss record bigger than Kendrick’s but man Drake is so insecure he can’t do it and he don’t know what to say. But he needs to go and think of something witty.

Eeeeh. I don't think he's dropped a truly great album since 2013 personally.
    He's a singles artist.

He'll always have a hit or two. Jay also had a lot more going for him. More consistent catalog. He was generally highly respected in the hiphop space. Had a few younger artist under him that were big(Kanye, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, etc.). His marriage with Beyoncé. Drake's position in the hip-hop space has ALWAYS been questioned by hip-hop heads. He doesn't have as many universally agreed upon classics. None of his artist are really popping. Etc.

Also, Jay's beef with Nas isn't comparable. Drake and Kendrick's beef lead to hefty allegations being thrown around. Pedo, or not, Drake legitimately has tons of documented interactions with children that are weird and questionable at best. And ppl aren't just gonna forget that.

"tons" is an insane stretch. people overanalyze the millie bobbie s*** and make is sexual. the only questionable interaction is really the one on stage from 15 years ago.

google "jay z foxy brown grooming" this is something that legit happened and people talk about it from time to time but they move on. everything on drake is just people piecing fan images together and creating their own story

  • The thing a lot of drake fans and rap fans in general dont understand is that Drake has been cultivating a lot of haters along the way. You can notice it on social media and here on KTT. Every year it seems like there is more drake hate. But thats nothing new. Kanye been through this, Em been through it.

There has been a large portion of fans or "haters" that have thought the dude is a lame and a fraud since TML. That vocal minority has grown into a vocal majority with this beef. Because Drake can't just ignore like he did with Push and try to move on. Lot of people truly were "excited for the elimination of Drake" and it shows.

Worrying about hypocrisy, who is telling the truth etc...doesn't matter. A large portion of fans, media members, labels and of course rappers want Drake out the paint. He's feeling what Meek felt during B2B

What I don't think people who believe Drake should walk away at this moment understand is that allegations like this don't blow over.

Michael Jackson was acquitted and is long gone, yet those accusations are an inseparable part of his legacy to this day. In Drake's case, look how they're already treating him despite the fact that it's not even actual women/victims accusing him of anything, unlike Michael, just a mob of Drake haters and true crime Stans trying to will something into existence based on cherry-picked situations and fairly suspicious patterns of behavior.

There's no chance at redemption through time for Drake. This career-long silver medal-holder, Kendrick Lamar, is a mercenary who was given the green light to make the entire world LEGITIMATELY believe Drake is a pedo. We unfortunately still live in a world where perception = reality, and this is a horrible case of it. You must keep in mind that casuals who have tuned in to the spectacle of this beef haven't been around since the ground floor of the internet's pedo/groomer narrative, back when it COULD reasonably be dismissed as just jokes to haphazardly sling at the guy at the top because they assume he won't be affected by anything anyway (e.g. Fantano). The mass public, however, is taking all of this as fact, especially the ones who aren't acquainted enough with rap beef to know that lying is a part of it. This would be grounds for a defamation case if this weren't hip-hop and looking like a cop wasn't career suicide, optics-wise.

People who don't want to actually own the gravity of Kendrick's claims, or the fact that said claims are causing irreversible damage to Drake's character and livelihood, are going to tell you to dance and laugh to "Not Like Us". They'll tell you it's not a big deal, it's just jokes, just accept the L, Drake shouldn't dish it out if he can't take it (i.e. the Meek situation), etc. But do believe, a lot of them high-key wouldn't mind, or actively want, Drake being a pedo being true, despite how horrific that would actually be. A lot of them are going to pretend this narrative won't have a very real and catastrophic effect on Drake's life.

This has already gone beyond rap. Children and families are involved. People have been shot. Drake going away and coming back with a great album or a "hit" is not the solution. Plus, he's only getting older. By the time this "blows over", which I obviously don't believe it will, he'll be 40-something. He's at that stage in his career where he can't really afford to go away for too long lest he lose all of his momentum for good. Rap doesn't matter any more at this point, and if it did, there's no future where mass of amounts of people start to think, "You know, maybe he DID outrap Kendrick" or "Well, actually, 'Family Matters' WAS the best song", because if they're not giving him a fair shot now, what reason do you have to think they'd do it later? All that's going to happen is the, "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?!" SpongeBob meme when Drake pops back out. You're going to see a chorus of, "I know that ain't who I think it is" and "Oh, we ain't forget you're a pedo", as they try to shame him back into hiding.

What I do agree with is that there's absolutely no reason for Drake to drop any more disses UNLESS he has receipts. That's the only thing that can change things. And not merely change things in the sense of winning a rap beef. It's about making people accept that the guy who just put a stain on your name that can't be removed is a #BadPerson. Drake has to essentially say, "If he CLAIMS I'm this, and y'all are going to believe it, then this is what he ACTUALLY is. Now do with that what you will. I'm off it."

But I'll be honest. Given everything that's happened, I don't have good reason to believe Drake has receipts for anything, let alone the most damaging claim of Kendrick being an abuser. Because if someone was calling me something as unforgivable as a pedo, and I KNEW he was an abuser, I would drop every shred of evidence that I have, immediately. I'm not letting that narrative spread for too long, and I'm not letting the hypocrite, false prophet, moralizing grandstander be the guy that takes me out. Instead, most of what we got on "THP6" is what sounds like Drake mining old rumors, fan theories/speculation, and timeline commentary for ammo and angles.

tl;dr - If Drake does have indisputable proof that can damage Kendrick, he needs to let it fly. Stand and fight, because they've already greatly damaged your character in real life and were set on giving you the rap battle L, no matter what. You should expose the truth of the other guy if you can. Otherwise, it's over.

    • i think yall really downplay the MBB stuff. That in itself is already bad. A grown man shouldnt have a intimate friendship with 14 year old like that. Obviously we can’t know Drake’s true intentions, but yall seem to misunderstand grooming as “sending sexual stuff to a kid”. Grooming can be just building a genuine relationship with a kid, and waiting til theyre of age to make a move.
We’ll never know if Drake would have attempted to make a move had he not been called out, but its best to not be in that position to begin with.

    • texting Billie Eilish when she was underaged

    • facetiming Charlie D’Alessio when she was 16

    • being friends with Hailey Baldwin when she was 14, only to take her out on dates when she was 18/19ish

Again. If Drake wasnt a celebrity with hit songs, all of this stacked up would be enough for an ordinary citizen to be labeled, at the very least, a mega creep.

If you noticed your homeboy hanging out with, and texting a 14 year old he met on IG. Even if nothing sexual was being exchanged, you would rightfully find that creepy and concerning.

Not saying Drake is a pedo. But the public perception that he is one was brought on by himself

Are you guys in here bots?

Show me factual information that people aren't feeling Drake. I'm looking at the streaming numbers and they haven't changed yesterday v 4 weeks ago.

You're just being an emotional doomsday dumbass, or a bot.

Lol you want me to record when I play Drake in the whip with my girl, or his music is played out in public?

I'm not saying he's done, but the feeling isn't the same.

First of all, there's a 0% chance Drake organises any parties himself, his guys will be doing it. Second of all who the f*** has a party where you sit at the door asking for peoples ID to let them in? There's high school girls at every party/club in the real world

your points would make sense if all of these people weren't famous and roll in the same circles. Billie Eilish denied anything weird. MBB and her family denied anything weird. There is no "intimate" relationship. why are you guys trying to sexualize s*** that isnt sexualized

Hailey Baldwin's family all lives in the same area that Drake and Kanye used to live in, which is why they were all friends. You don't think if Hailey Baldwin was being groomed she would've already spoken out against Drake since she's married to Justin Bieber who's also friends with Drake??? like be fr man
