This is also kind of what I was trying to say

But saying the golden child controls narratives isn’t shocking . Kendrick been at time over gassed by the media and fans. That isn’t a good thing when you want to discuss art

It's kinda hard to compare them honestly because the eras are so different and things function differently. at least imo. It's kinda like the NBA goat convo

you only get half a bar

four albums in 10 years? I can divide

one hot album every ten year average

you made it a hot line, I made it a hot song

i got money stacks bigger than you

a wise man told me don't argue with fools
cause people from a distance can't tell who is who

That's more TRULY iconic bars in one track than kendrick had across five

honestly some of the most creative bars in the whole exchange came from drake, push ups was really good

it was clear that drake and dot had completely different ideas of what this battle was supposed to be and that mismatch is a big reason the whole thing felt kind of ehhh, they weren't really competing on the same terms

Bruh that's bullshit. Kendrick had clearly heard talk of Family Matters ahead of time and it was Drake that was trying to make it personal mentioning his family and s***. I can tell you lean towards Drake. Let's not try to shift the narrative and stick to the facts.

Otherwise I can somewhat agree that it got way too messy but saying Kendrick took it there is false. Kendrick even warned him in 6:16 in LA that I heard what you are about to do from your camp and if you do that I'm about way further.

kendrick knew exactly what he was doing lmao, he wanted it to play out like this because bro got no bars, he's not winning a classic rap battle against drake, what's a prince to a king he a son is easily the greatest bar in the entire beef, push ups is the best classic diss track in the whole thing and I'm not saying he won, dot won the beef but it was a pyrrhic victory

  • rather late

Pac would f***ing destroy kendrick lol

"fucking destroy" is a stretch like a muthafucka and I love pac but again yall got kendrick f***ed up and i don't even wanna be like OD defending him like that but yall be talking crazy

what is a classic rap battle?

what because Drake is able to use similes and metaphors, he’s the better rapper because you can’t catch internal rhymes and bars that don’t need to use like or as? you spend way too much time listening to Eminem and super duper flows bruh… expand your ears lmao

rap is more than just “I’m a lion like Simba”

That's Drake's fault for taking it there and if you can't see that then there is no other way to look at you but biased.

also you acknowledge that Kendrick won so wtf are we even talking about

And if you are a Hov stan then lol again love Hov too but relax

like Kendrick wasn’t raised in battle rap circles just stupid rap listeners bruh, I swear

Yeah don't get me wrong Hov was clowning on that s***. I always say that's a way underrated diss because of Ether. But Ether did what it did and I feel like, with all that we know about Hov, Kendrick is the type that can really spin the narrative on him.

  • 2 of them s***s was doo... 1 was naaaan LMAO like Takeover is a classic diss I'm not trying to diminish Jay.

airing someone's dirty laundry has always been part of beef culture but drake vs kendrick took it way too far and made that the whole point... It stopped being a means to elevate the bars and turned into an end in itself

a lot of those shots were easy jabs, fake personal allegations and shock value type s*** without much creativity... where's the bars man? hov >>>

And also back to this... that's pretty ironic coming from you when Hov was saying s*** like "left condoms on ya baby seat and skeeting in ya baby momma jeep" or whatever else he said.

you might not be biased for drake but you hate kendrick i can tell lol

I'm not saying this kind of stuff hasn't always been part of a rap beef but let's not ignore the fact that drake vs kendrick crossed a line making this sort of drama the point instead of it being part of a creative back and forth with great bars. This beef was ass and some corporate s*** for kids and it honestly makes me worry about how future rap beefs will play out if this becomes the new base line... airing dirty laundry isn't impressive, iconic bars are. Drake somewhat delivered early on, Kendrick had some interesting angles, but did he actually drop an all timer in terms of bars? I just don't see it. It was a great event but it wasn't a great beef.
