Pre 2023 noname yeah, but she already called herself a hypocrite that can also be bought because she's out here trying to survive too so it took away her biggest angle towards dot

Artist calling themselves hypocrites as a shield

A lot of what you list here is based on popularity and favoritism . The recency bias of the beef means no one so it isn’t that good of a discussion. When you remove potential favoritism, machine and it’s just focused on battle rap it’s Closer than you think .

This is like fresh out of the Drake meek beef when Drake fans said no one can beat him . Kendrick haters bro for a decade. Could have beat him throughout this time but waited until it made the most sense . When it would best benefit him

Again, then they'd have to do real on stage battle rapping. And I just told you I think it would be close too. Lupe would be close for example: there is no universe where Kendrick is just washing Lupe for example (in my opinion). You responding like we have night and day viewpoints or something.

JID is a sleepin giant to me tbh. Dude has bars, flow, hunger, and delivery. I would be afraid to go against him

JID is not making a Not Like Us though. It's tough to beat a combination of bars and hooks like that.

Drake went into the beef thinking Kendrick was basically JID and he is absolutely not.

I don’t think star power / being mainstream matters as much as people think. I mean sure you might not derail Kendrick’s career if you’re a less popular rapper, but you can definitely win a battle. It’s happened plenty of times in history.

So if you remove that criteria, there are plenty of guys who could compete with Kendrick in a battle.

I think for example prime Kiss would be very competitive just as one name to throw out there.

Not related but a rap beef between Kendrick and Common would be the funniest s***. What would they even rap about lmao

Common dog walked Ice Cube. Another good example of how not being as mainstream didn’t matter.

I think I'm not framing the star power point correctly and that's my fault. I just mean enough relevancy to the point where the battle would even have enough weight. Star power isn't the right way to put it honestly it's just really late lol I'm on 5% mental battery.

It's the "Kendrick just opened his mouth someone go hand him a Grammy right now" thing. He's viewed in this almost unrealistic brainwashed way as being the cemented rap goat that obviously isn't really that accurate bar for bar which is the main issue Lupe be having with calling him the best. Like I don't think a lot of people will even accept in their mind that Kendrick is getting bested even if he was unless you come at him with something crazy.

Like there are times on Not Like Us where he's not even rhyming really. A rap purist like Lupe might knock points off for that but with the type of fanfare surrounding his name now s*** like that is overlooked. I hope that makes some sense. I admit I'm tired so I might just be yapping a bit but I don't think it's the same as like "well Drake and Jay had star power but they got beat". That's true. I think Kendrick writes and frames s*** in a way that convinces people.

Or whatever I'm tired f*** it lol

I get it he definitely has an advantage because for Kendrick specifically his popularity is in good faith from the masses which makes him unique compared to others. People buy into his intentions with his music.

Yeah that's all I'm trying to say I just didn't say it right admittingly. Mainstream/star power is not the way to say it and that's my bad. But if Drake took his time, he would have been able to do similar to Kendrick but its too late. And now Kendrick can take the momentum from that win and do what I'm suggesting.

Kendrick has crazy nuthuggers . No point in his career did he truly fully challenge what his fans come to like him for

Because Drake is anti “woke” lol

  • Like i said i mix of em stans around 2010 and drake stans before the beef

Cause he's stupid and got ahead of himself. Kendrick had him spooked so he tried to rush him down cause he figured Kendrick was a slow writer which is a foolish assumption.

Yeah but that is starting to change trust me
If he were to get into another beef a lot of people would want to see him knocked down a peg.
