I think he purposely went for simple beats more recently for repeatability

Plus he’s so good at making great songs out of really any type of beat

At this point it speaks more to his greatness as an artist not to need to rely so heavily on production to make high level music as opposed to needing the very best/biggest named producers on every track like most other rappers.

He will make some basic soundin s*** jump. They usually grow with time.
