There was a post in that mbdtf influence thread about the 808s-yeezus run changing how rap fans judged music. In a lot of ways, it does make sense that many people today can't appreciate this new wave if they really like kanye and his contributions, while also disliking music that the streets would enjoy or music pre 04 ye. This new wave isn't influenced by kanye much outside maybe uzi but even he takes a lot more from future and thug and a lil from 2010s chicago in terms of style. Is this why so many people on here cant stand the new wave? Rap is moving back to its origins and following the traditional formula, instead of the path kanye layed out.

Kanye has no influence on the current generation

They’re all Little Wayne, Chief Keef, Future & Young Thug’s children

It’ll be that way until someone lays a new blueprint or formula

    nah Ye's achievements are absolute.
I kind of see what you mean when you look at the big acts. However if you take Thug, Travis, Future all of them are crooning over autotune so that still shows, Wayne, Ye, and T-pain's influence. Then you take drake who walks the thin line of pop,rnb and rap all being introduced to the mainstream by someone like Ye.
Then theres Cole. I mean Ye influence is still strong in his music, maybe thats cause Ye was strongly influenced by Nas.
Anyway Ye kind of continues to stay relevant cause there hasn't been a sound by an artist in hiphop that has transcended the one he introduced

basically all non street rappers are making kanye runoff

I'm talking about the new era not thug j cole and future. Travis I'll give you but that's just one artist in general. the average new artist doesnt sound like that.
