Created a new genre and was ahead of it's time, as much as that is an overused cliché this guy really pushed into the foray of ambient music and helped pioneer Quiet Storm as a sound/aesthetic.

idk about underrated in general but i don't see a lot of discussion on it around on the internet within the spaces i occupy so yea. really good album tho was just talking about this today with my little brother lol

Tbh, this album is good but overrated af. I actually prefer Smokey (his debut album) by a landslide. In terms, of consistency and cohesion, it's his best. But this is a classic as well. I'd also recommend Flying High Together, Love Breeze, and Warm Thoughts.
