Did he mention music? Seems like he was making a broad statement about the app itself.

    New NIGHTMAN

I heard someone say something like "TikTok is to Hip Hop what MTV was to Rock"

Not sure if I agree or not but its an interesting comparison

Doesnt make sense as a comparison to me & comes off as an out of touch pseudo intellectual imo

  • May 24, 2021

People that hate tiktok think tiktok is only one or two things lol.

No it isnt. The streaming platforms is more harmful than anything & people is only using a social media service as a scapegoat or to seem deep without any actual substance or research.

Literally the same damn f***ing "discourse" that went on with twitter, vine, instagram & even damn myspace & facebook. Repated almost every 5 years.

Our generation was scared to become the old out of touch niggas but still ended up becoming it & repeating the same bullshit, exaggerations & alarmist topics.

    Streaming started it

I don't really like that artists are making music solely for the purpose of getting a hit on Tik Tok. The cringy dances/challenges that pop up don't feel like they're doing it for enjoying the music, but rather to name drop the song and be in a popularity contest. It's also weird to see so many artists that have blown up from Tik Tok being festival headliners now too, I miss that organic growth. With all that said, I think Tik Tok is a cool social platform just find a lot of the dance/challenge stuff lame and too centralizing in the music industry.
