Even ignoring his death, I genuinely feel like this is one of the best rap albums of 2010’s all around. Let’s start with the concept, it encapsulates the magnificent art of hustling and reaching your full potential in life. S***s a Ted talk for how to deal with $$$. I’ve been determined to work hard and stack the cheese this summer, through doordashing/Uber eats and tryna get an accounting position.
Second it’s the production, this duo Mike & keys are ridiculous with the beats, even better when they teamed up with Mars or Jake One. Very layered, tastefully done, bangs hard, and stands out without sounding like some artsy fartsy s***. Wish they’d get more recognition, their work somewhat reminds me of Vinylz.
Lastly, he implemented guest features very well and they brought their A-game to the songs. We all know Kendrick normally doesn’t add to a song, but boy did he level up Dedication. Cee-lo, The Dream, Buddy, and Marsha all killed it too, shout-out to Steve O who went out of his way to bring these guests.
So that’s how I feel about the album, s*** dawg Drake needs to link up with Mike & Keys for SH3 and drop some heaters too
