I remember before CTRL got released, everyone was talking about how TDE fumbled the bag for her and s***. They got her signed to a major and CTRL is like one of the most successful R&B albums ever. Now she’s transitioning into a full blown top 10 popstar
TDE allows 100% creative control. So when an artist hasnt dropped, 80% of the reason is because of the artist being ready. The other 20% is usually sample clearances etc

When they release projects and do interviews they’re pretty transparent about the process. They don’t mention the label getting in the way. Only SZA and Punch was telling her to step it up and find her sound really. CTRL ended up being the result
TDE one of the best rap labels oat. They really found that balance between quality music and commercial success. Rap niggas get on and their quality falls flat but TDE only stepped it up over the years. It’s not the blog/mixtape era no more. Niggas gotta realize that. They gotta move different. Real money is involved and they have a big audience. They always set themselves aside and they need the time to do that. They got the coldest visuals. Best engineer. Best rapper. That s*** takes organization man

Also didn't help that every rapper on the label is coming off either their worst album or at least a weaker effort than the one that came before
