He specifically said about comparing this album and THIB that he felt like he was being directed to not be himself with the latter, assumedly both by the label and his own opinions
Honestly I think the beat is very Zay coded besides the maybe too polished drums. That comment also gives lots of hype for the rest of the album for me

interesting... I love thib and feel like it's very him outside from the garden. but I love to know they're letting him do him. this feels like the compromise record so he could do more creative s*** on the album cuts too

Yeah it’s not great but in Zay we trust
I actually love the hook on the new one a lot. And the beat/melodies in it. The bass line that comes in and the guitar are so good. Feels like some world going to s*** hopeless malaise. The shouty children chanting along is good too.
But that first verse is just straight up not really enjoyable to listen to. Second verse picks up a little bit but still just kinda runs that short flow into the ground. If it was just the hook and the verses were different flows I think it would’ve gone over better
downloaded the compilation of the music 4r da vibers and split it into three playlists and man his loosies/unreleased s*** might be some of the greatest
Funny how people associate this flow wit Skepta/Praise the lord. And he admitted he got it from DMX
Never put 2 and 2 together
But with the beat it literally sounds like PDL
Still good though
Going back thru his discog before this, I like all his albums but man he was just in a different mode on Cilvia
nah yall crazy same s*** fire
slaps in the whip. had this bumpin wit the windows dowin ridin thru the city
I said all that but I've had this s*** stuck on repeat
songs that loop perfectly are crack to me
The man . The myth . The legend . The great . The plan, get money til I’m dead . Perfectin my lil trap .

the sound is good i get that it's just the beat feels cheap in a generic way, like those opera/singing vox just feels trite but i f*** with the song. and i like how they layer in the kids vox over his at the end
His vocals in that live recording from Coachella sound so much better than the studio version. Way more feeling.
