Listening to this again this week, great album

I think part of it for me is how polished it sounds, which props to the engineers because I think it objectively sounds amazing, but because of that it doesn’t have that palpable warmth and addictive sound quality of his other tapes

That being said it’s still either my second fav or tied for second of his. Really hope we get the deluxe asap, the snippets we’ve heard are more classic Zay sounding than a lot of what’s on here

Anytime a criticize an album, people swear I'm a hater but I'm a proud Zay stan. I think with Suns Tirade he mixed that singy song raps and southern style perfectly. The thing with this album is that he doubled down on that West Savannah type songs and it's lost all the "hip hop" atmosphere/beats. Looking back he's always been a little off kilter (Think "Hereditary"). I don't want to assume the future but that Dominic Fike collab tells me everything I need to know about where he's going.
