I think this is one of the major issues we have with hip hop discourse online (not on ktt but in general), a lot of people with platforms aren’t listening or just straight up haven’t listened to the music. They literally just have opinions based on the person or the little they have heard.

I can’t hate, because the list of classics and important songs I haven’t heard is miles long, but I do think that if you are going to be a major commentator on the music, you should put the extra effort in to hear everything

That's respectable cuz he is honest about it. The big problem is podcasters like Joe Budden who openly admit they are biased and hate someone yet people try to present their words like it's the unbiased truth. And I say that as someone who likes Joe Budden when he isn't in his feelings

Inexcusable but of course the barrier for entry to speak on something is an all time low. Whether I agree or disagree with someone, I respect if they at least have done their homework. That’s really a lot of hip hop discourse it’s not even about being genuine it’s about engagement
