Whatever you want to call it, they deserve to be mentioned alongside names like Beatles, Stevie wonder, mj, prince, maybe higher. They had such a long and full career, with ultra-classic songs, genre-defining phases, perfect albums, and overall just decades of interesting high-quality music. Most of it has aged amazingly too.

The Heat Is On is probably my favorite album but the whole run from Brother Brother Brother to Go for Your Guns is basically equally amazing, all consistent. bangers and ballads
