MY BROTHAAA
It's literally my favorite album OAT
Bobby Brown had him shook once media started calling him an updated MJ as MJ was starting to get stale in his sound in the late 80s, so he got Teddy Riley to update his sound with new jack swing which was the trend back then. Ironic on his first try he outsells every other actual NJS artist that were popping back then.
He got on the new jack swing wave because Bobby brown took his place as the biggest pop star in America
Bobby could've been so much bigger than he was after Don't Be Cruel. But d**** and whitney houston made him downfall big time.
Holy s*** you f***ing derelicts cant go one thread without bringing up this man get the f*** off his d***
I wish new jack swing would come back
Watch some street rapper do a New Jack Swing song about smoking on dead opps
Popular artist does the best iteration of slightly different genre e.g She Drives me Wild, Why You wanna Trip on Me, Jam, Remember the time
You’re a f***ing idiot

the world really doesn't know
bro was really MJ 2.0 during don't be cruel era.
First big singer/rapper imo too
Not the best New Jack Swing album, that’s Keith Sweat Make it last forever
Nah, Black or White and In the Closet alone kill that whole album and I f***ing hate MJ stans
Holy s*** you f***ing derelicts cant go one thread without bringing up this man get the f*** off his d***
I think the point is when you try to group a mainstream Pop artist’s music in an underground or less popular genre then ofcourse yeah they’re gonna sell ”the most”.
It’s like being surprised Taylor’s Folklore would be one of the best selling Folk albums ever
I wish new jack swing would come back
Closest that would happen would be something like that Bruno Mars song with Kodak
i feel like this isn't the way to put it tho...he used the same producers who popularized that genre. it wasn't like he had to start from scratch
MJ was versatile and should be commended for that but i dont think Dangerous being the genres biggest selling album means much when it had the genres biggest producers and was the biggest star himself. It ain't like his own damn sister wasn't one of the influential artists of the genre either lol
And it wasn't all NJS he still had to do them choir and ballad records to even things out
My favorite MJ album tho
bobby brown and guy had the real best selling NJS albums tbh.
dangerous had a lot of those weird adult contemporary ballads he loved and got white people on board. more of an all things to all people record.
Only 3 songs.
Heal the World, Will You Be There (which is a Free Willy classic ) and Gone Too Soon.
That album is like 80-90% New Jack Swing.
Greatest album of all time tho
