Agree with you, and on its face Iran’s existence as an oil state not trading in $ is perceivably the reason for military action, but this is evidently backfiring, and every international action or discussion Trump’s admin has made has largely made the $ less attractive to foreign buyers. Almost every single western ally is slowly unloading US treasuries thereby threatening the $ status as the reserve currency because of Trump’s presidency. So I would say the elite class supposedly orchestrating all this either grossly miscalculated or were never in control in the first place, having been co-opted even further by Israeli interests and Trump’s derangement

It's interesting that the NYT article mentioned Vance, Rubio and Tucker Carlson as pushing back against war with Iran. Three people who are likely going to run in 2028.
