there are plenty of iranians in sweden that are celebrating what is happening to iran right now. many of them left iran due to the revolution or are children to immigrants, so I can understand that, but I can't wrap my head around how they can be so oblivious and nonchalant to the fact that their countrymen are collateral sacrifice
i know jews and israelis that are involved in the palestine movement here and they'd never celebrate that israel is getting bombed even though they understand why it's happening
i don't mean anything negative against iranian people. i known many throughout my whole life and I've been there a few times myself, but their unconditional support for "regime change" by those individuals who do have anti-IR sentiments is insane to me. then you've got a fairly large minority that are pro-monarchist which is ridiculous as well
the reason why iran is being bombed is because they're standing up against western imperialism, why would you be against that, regardless of what your views of the iranian government is

I think you're inflating Iran a bit here. It's an important nation for sure, but its certainly not the torch bearer for the entire global south. Resistance has existed before the Islamic Republic, and it will continue in some form in the (unlikely imo) event it falls.
U.S. endgame is always China. Iran is a piece on Washington's stupid chessboard it keeps falling into the trap of trying to regime change.

the only legitimate critique of the iranian government is from the communist left. all "liberal" opposition to the revolution is opportunistic, right-wing, and imperialistic in practice -- allying itself with not just the remnants of the monarchy but also weird paramilitary cults like the MEK.
