Increased punishments for d**** that targeted our communities.
He was a senile racist egotisical puppet and deserves more smoke
I only see Republicans and Americans who aren’t politically literate praise him tbh
Nixon worse

And it’s not really the latter’s fault entirely bc Raegan is definitely cradled in American history as far as presidents go
Nixon worse
Nixon wasnt so bad he supported universal health care and UBI. He was the last non neoliberal for a while

Nixon definitely helped perpetuate the Southern strategy with Goldwater
He’s disliked by politically informed people, academics, and minorities in the working class. But the economic growth under his administration was really high, and middle class incomes grew by 11%. As unfortunate as it is, most people aren’t interested in politics outside of their own material performance and that of their surrounding community, so for most middle class people it was probably one of the best presidency’s of their lives. I think that’s why there’s still a lot of Clinton nostalgia despite the shortcomings of that admin (though not as bad as Reagan’s).

Honestly pretty much this, and I think a lot of middle class Americans were not seeing anything in Carter with the shape of the economy late 70a
