Like obviously who knows if some of my coworkers are racist behind the scenes etc, but they all treat me with crazy amounts of respect and I can get away with slacking if I wanted to, it’s a weird thing and I don’t think it’s positive, I think the dialogue of clearing the air is. Either way yea this s*** kinda fire anyone relate?

well last time that happened to me was like 2017 in a place full of confederate flag headass trump lovers so i gotta say i cant corroberate

last job i worked at i was in a similar situation (like 1 of 2 black people) and i wont say its fire but i did get a lot of looks and compliments from women. we just stand out naturally but if u present yourself correctly and with a natural confidence you really cant lose

they do say racist s*** behind your back. not about you specifically but race jokes run off.

Any job that you’re a minority you get treated more carefully.

Where I work, my trade department is almost entirely black, and white people are protected heavily since there are so few of them. They can slack off and miss work and never get fired.

However, if I were to move to a white dominated trade within my company I could bullshit and they would have a really hard time firing me.

It’s also MUCH easier to move up in my company if you’re the minority in the department.

Yes and I 100% assume that, but I work with them and if they treat me respect I can’t just be a d*** off an assumption. I just keep it professional. This town is real tight knit so I think it’s more people who don’t know more than like one black person lol than actual racists racists. All they know is white , hip hop is what black peoples are to them

I don’t mind it because it at least comes off genuine, they don’t like force a cheesy smile and s*** they just don’t talk s*** to me how they would a white coworker
