They were all part of the original pilot they shot for 100 dollars and wrote pretty much all the episodes in the earlier seasons

On rewatch it’s insane how bad they fell off starting with season 9. By then the tone is cartoon and so are everyone’s characterizations especially Mac he’s terrible and unfunny af

I watched a few of the early seasons and felt this way about the show. Everybody is an overgrown kid, there's nobody to relate to or root for. Just watching a bunch of pathetic adults do stupid s*** like figure out which of them pooped in a bed
