You obviously don’t realize how insanely popular Kanye was during Yeezus to TLOP era. He was self proclaimed “anti radio” at the time, and basically doing everything that would hurt his commercial sales, yet still put up huge numbers and sold out shows everywhere with barely any promo

Kanye literally released his last 3-4 albums with barely any traditional promo. A surprise release for a big artist like Em or Kanye is more promo than traditional promo nowadays, that’s no excuse.
