    And tbh up until 2018 everybody (Hip-Hop culture) was pretty on board with it.

    He spoke about slavery quite a lot during the Yeezus era.

    Now whenever the word slavery comes out his mouth people get instantly angry no matter the context of whatever he’s talking about.

    Not putting my opinion here just an observation.

    Before 2018 ppl who listened to Ye either were heavy hip hop listeners or black ppl.

    After 2018 white ppl and mainstream radio listeners caught on to his career and thats where you see the shift.

    Ye is too complex for the mainstream.

    I don’t think the anger is as irrational as you’re describing. One of his biggest statements in the past 5 years was about slavery and people disagreed heavily.
