This summer, Dubai has been averaging over 40 degree celsius (104 deg fahrenheit) weather everyday. Dubai only gets 4 inches of rainfall a year so this is a massive issue for their agriculture and general wellbeing. It reached 51.8 degrees celcius (125 degrees fahrenheit) in June.

"Here's how it works: The drones shoot laser beams into the clouds, charging them with electricity. The charge prompts precipitation by forcing water droplets together to create bigger raindrops, essentially electrifying the air to create rain."

"These drones are designed to target certain clouds and use electrical discharges via concentrated lasers to forcibly pool water droplets in the air, thus triggering desired rainfall."

Yep, from what I understand in other zones won't rain so it will be a big issue to the eco-system. What solves a problem causes another...
