I read the article, it’s kinda all over the place

Pretty much starts out by saying people work too much to solve any large scale societal issues, and need to stop working so much to solve those issues. And, that young people realize this and feel anxiety bc of it so they don’t want to work.

But then goes on to say “I have a shameful confession to make: Secretly, I am not lazy. I’ve learned that if I do literally nothing for more than a year, two at most, I start to get depressed.”

Humans are social creatures. When we engage in work with others that we are truly passionate about, we feel fulfilled and develop a sense of pride from our work. Especially if that work helps others in some way.

What we have now is of course a widespread division of labor, one that has led to extreme alienation from themselves and those around them. Everything is individualized. Everything is competition and we see these social conditions reproduced in near every apparatus, starting with the schools.
