real for putting DMX. his first album was one of the only truly flawless hip hop albums in history and his first four albums all fire. first truly emotional rapper talking about mental health and depression over a decade before it became cool and the real street dudes loved him he was like the east coast pac but had different subject matter younger people need to give him a listen

his first 2 albums have some of the most undeniably classic rap songs ever

he used shock value as a way to get the public to pay attention to his material but there's clear legitimate emotional content in his early sht.

You a real one ☝🏽, people truly need to include him in these convos because he had substance, hits, anthems, influence and a personality and image that was so recognizable. His albums gave that atmosphere where you could tell he was expressing his struggles while trying to be a down to earth individual. He’s personally one of my top 5 favorite artist of all time

nah he was a great rapper and at his best he was going toe to toe with everyone and even semi-recently he outrapped kendrick lamar but he's not jay, nas, rakim, or big level in terms of career as a straight rapper imo
