It is drake best album let me give you facts why. At the time when it dropped drake was in his prime, as for popularity he surpassed Wayne Kanye jay z all the artist he once looked up to. That one line about Kanye wearing yellow polo made Kanye looked old tbh, on used to having Wayne as feature it felt like drake was helping him out by giving him some relevancy instead of Wayne making the song better get what I mean. So it was clear the crown was passed to drake at the moment. Drake was aware of that he knew he was the best you could feel the confidence throughout the whole album. He wasn’t no more worried about girls no more back and forth emotions throughout the album tracklisting like on nwts. He was comfortable with his past and his background something instead of reinventing himself like he’s been doing since. As far as lyrics go it might of been ghost written but it’s some of the best lyrics I’ve heard from drake he was in kill mode and was able to be catchy on the hooks. There wasn’t that much singing going on but when it was done it felt needed. The production was some of drakes most interesting production he’s had. It was dark and Skelton like and plus the snares were really crisp. So yeah after this he followed up with wattba with future and it road on the success of iywrt but everything since has been very mediocre. he’s no longer making music for the love of its he just trying to capitalize of music.
