mysterious music for kill edward
I hope It's A Boy isn't a project of dad raps
That’s probably exactly what it will be tbh
There was literally only one instance which was a tweet while hes had more than once instance of him referring to it as a mixtape
Again, he talked about how he approached it with the same mindset he approached the warm up. Show me a rapper saying they approached a studio album the same way they approached a mixtape.
Having a mixtape mindset while making an album isn't a new concept at all because it's often done with the intent to draw back to a certain 'mode' for that artist.
And I'm pretty sure Future has actually said this for one of his albums. I'll find it.
Haven't peep that yet

Yeah probably this summer judging off the bun b tweet
the wild part about this is we saying its a mixtape doesnt mean we treating it any different than how we treat every other cole project lmao. This really has no bearing on what we were even initially trying to say it was the drake stan downplaying Dark Lane's commercial success and talking about how it was a mixtape like that changed the commercial success
Cole stans in shambles claiming it’s a mixtape
It’s an album, announced as an album, released as an album etc
Unlike drake s*** this was promoted as a body of work and legit was a ton of unheard songs besides one released last year . Not a bunch of leaks with demo in the title so I’m sure these sales are a reflection of his hype
Which is good , 300k is still good
"He said just know this been years in the making"
Nigga he says the ALBUM has been years in the making.
Why are you trying so hard to avoid saying it's an album. It's not life or death lmfao.
Off season was a mixtape when he was talking about doing freestyles on other niggas beats. Then it turned into an album

No one downplayed the success of DLDT but you can't compare the success of a Drake album and a Drake side project. His albums always do better and are always marketed/treated like an album.
This was his IG post announcing DLDT.
Notice how he makes a point that it ISN'T his album and says that would be coming later? Drake has released side projects since he started dropping albums and they all count as just that - side projects. IYRTITL/WATTBA/More Life/DLDT are all side projects, NOT albums.
It doesn't matter what mindset Cole was in when he made the Off-Season. It was released/marketed as an album and even more importantly, he himself referred to it as an album. That's what makes it an album.

This is really all we've been trying to say for the past 3 pages. Lmao.

This is a moronic point because before Cole even told us off season was dropping there was no indication it was a studio album. Even after the project came out people still treat it like it's a mixtape. Some do, others don't. So yes, mindset does matter which is the whole point. When Fall Off drops it's going to do better than the off season. That's not to say it will sell 500 or 600k but it will be a more commercial album from mindset to songs and that's the project everyone has been anticipating. Just cause Cole has one tweet referring to it as an album doesnt change the fact that it was promoted like a mixtape which was the point from the beginning. If Drake called dark lane an album, people would still treat it like a compilation tape. Im done with this convo.
And they both do bigger numbers than Cole and Kendrick. Your point?
Drake, Post, and Trav
The real big 3
Imagine thinking Travis is big 3 material lmaoooo those bundles and sicko mode really got y’all fooled.

Kendrick said he wanted DAMN. to have a mixtape feel and even had kid capri shouting all over the s***. Still an album tho

Cole stans aren't claiming its a mixtape

Wouldnt be surprised if the label made him release it as an album

Thanks for reminding me how stupid you are.
This nigga just proved the reason he's so insistent on The Off-Season being a mixtape is because of it's debut numbers. Cole never referred to any of the projects he wrote down on that paper being mixtapes and he strictly referred to The Off-Season as an album so how didn't people know it was an album when it dropped?
Cole fans really trying to make the Off-Season a mixtape when the person who made it called it an album because it isn't doing better numbers. How pathetic.
