every time i hear
Look how everybody clappin' when your thirty-song album do a measly hundred thou'
i can’t help but think of slime language 2 bc that’s exactly what was happening lol
"Hunger on Hillside" reminds me so much of Nas' song, "Where's The Love", from his Life Is Good album. The beat and just the entire vibe of those two songs are very similar to one another.
Both are great tracks.
Beat sounds just like I Wonder though
@Goo @Aftermath still shocked that i enjoy a j cole album this much. i take back all the s*** i said about him on og ktt.

Nah don't, back then he deserved it. Now he put out a good album so he deserves praise.

I think I was a little hard on him tbh, I revisited his earlier albums before the new one dropped and FHD and Born sinner were pretty decent

All his albums are good
It’s kinda wild to me that this album makes his others seem sonically flat.
Don’t get me wrong, FHD still classic and the others are good to great (with some classic songs) but something about the way this is mixed or just the production itself makes this seem so much fuller than anything he’s dropped previously.

Weirdo

I agree 100%, he really upped it with the production and sound. 95 South feels like a f***ing movie
Crazy story
Cole basically got Timbo to remake a beat he heard him playing live which inspired him to write a song
I know it's been said to death but Cole gotta do a Lost Tapes man.
So many songs he's mentioned in interviews and s*** early in his career that he never put out

I have listened to this album more than any other Cole album already lmao
It’s definitely better
Tweakin
Give this jawn at least two months. You'll see

I garuntee you my opinion won’t change lol
As I said in another post FHD has some of Cole’s most iconic songs but it’s still a spotty record compared to this.
Hello and GOMD are subpar compared to everything on this project (GOMD has some flashy verses but the beat and hook are awkward asf)

That’s because his others ARE sonically flat. That’s the problem with Cole’s production. He picks cute soulful samples, but he doesn’t have a producer ear (and that makes sense, it takes a lot of work to get there), so sonically it never actually knocks properly
