How's the em route where Cole is heading ?
I feel like you guys are just ignoring the context of this drop.
He just dropped a song thats actually gonna be on the album and he doesnt do the rapping for the sake of it. He's clearly saving the content for the album.
These are just loosies that arent even on streaming.
Fair enough, this thing I'm being critical about is something Cole has done more and more post 2014-FHD and I guess I just hope he doesn't do that on TFO. We'll see.
Jcole fans are funny man. I had a homie who stepped out of work to send a 4 minute voice note in the group chat to defend dude

He's never really done it on an album, even off season there's a lot of content and meaningful raps there
The mixtape was pretty decent. Considering how much he's been hyping The Fall Off album all these years, he needs to come harder than that though.
I have to wait till lunch to listen
Those passionate voice messages in the group chat hit different

And there was always this one nigga that stuck out to me like a year ago, this nigga's like, "Yo"
Like I thought I did my thing on the s***, that was like two of my favorite verses that I did
But he was just like, "Yo," like, "Yo, you didn't come right, man
If you gon' come on 'Dead Presidents,' son, you gotta come hard, son
You gotta come harder than that, son
You gotta come harder than that"
I was like, man, what you mean, I came hard?
May be wrong but I feel like that was the same year ace hoods Rollie fell apart on the red carpet, lot of fashion fails in that era
Yup same year lol
Maybe for the rap fan who is still a teenager. When you're well into your 20s and 30s, hearing a rapper rap just for the hell of it isn't nearly as impressive. That's the very thing that nuked Eminem's career momentum. He stopped making records that were purposeful and leaned all the way into just rapping for rapping sake and was surprised/upset that rap fans who were now adults weren't easily impressed by him rapping fast or rapping about absolute rubbish as a 40+ to 50+ year-old. That's where Cole seems to be headed.
These songs would impress the hell out of a rap fan who was like 12-17. That's not my age range. For most of my life, I've heard rappers of every caliber rap their asses off.
I can tell that Cole is technically proficient and sound with his rapping but it needs to say more than just saying a whole bunch of s*** that I can't even remember or hold on to after a couple listens.
Like, what are the lines from those 4 songs that stay with you after listening to them?
It's four loosies to hype up his final (allegedly) album. Like I'm sure he'll have a lot more to say about a lot on the actual project so it's not really a big deal that he pops out with something light to tide his fans over.
As for what stood out, I'd rather just go with songs that stood out really. 99 and Golden Goose

LMFAO

Have Cole and Cudi ever talked about each other? Feel like a collab back in the day could’ve been fire
