i dont want to get into a whole kendrick vs cole argument but imo kendrick presents his commentary in a very different way than cole does. cole is pretty blunt with what his messages and it often comes off as him literally trying to "educate" you about topics

kendrick on the other hand lets the listener do more of the work, he doesnt just give you the moral of the story in some bar at the end of the third verse. its much more abstract. thats why when people talk about tpab being a deep work of art its a lot more justified than with cole's music. thats just how i see it though
