    The apology was warranted tbh

99% of like that was shots at Drake. The only thing thing that could be taken as a dis towards Cole is the mention of them clicking up. Almost every other bar was aimed at Drake

Then Cole felt pressure to respond and started dissing the guys discography, saying hes irrelevant, saying he's better than him.

Kendrick didn't one time say Cole couldn't rap, or that his music sucks, etc. All he said was wow these two are clicking up.

I like the song but boy does it look kinda bad. Of course people are going to eat it up cause they want to perpetuate the beef because it's exciting.

So what would the appropriate response should have been? It's a rap diss only so much ground to cover if you're going to respond.

he over reacted, he took it too far with what he said.

the appropriate response would be to say, I'm the best and nobody can mess with me.

    but attacking Kendrick was different.

truly the only line he shouldn't have said was the TPAB slander. I feel like that's the line he truly didn't even belief himself. Most people cant defend Mr Morale like they can defend TPAB. Him saying "he averaging a hard verse every 30 months" was fine, kendrick cant really refute that.

Your first s*** was classic, your last s*** was tragic
THAT s*** put niggas to sleep, but they gassed it
Your third s*** was massive and that was your prime

Cole coulda said this and nobody could hate (even though I like Morale)

Bro this confused the hell outta me tbh as I always thought of Section.80 as Kendrick's first album

Took me a while to realise he was saying that TPAB was the one that put everyone to sleep and Damn was the prime

Yeah he f***ed up with the catalog talk a part of me was like he's rejecting the song not the beef but it's clear he just doesn't want beef with kendrick at all, cause him going at catalog was kinda wild, even as a mid diss, for a guy like kendrick, it must have hit different, Cole recognized that, fortunately for him he's bigger than all these other guys except the two niggas above him, he's set and he's cool, this outrage will fade

Nah, Cole sounds like he'd like Mr morale, this catalog talk was just a weird angle, maybe drake could say that since he not in the ilk of kendrick Nas common and tip

did cole technically apologize on stage? He never said “I apologize” or “I’m sorry”. Either way, I think the whole thing was intentional….to play off “might delete later”. Everything is calculated

"i just wanna come up here and publicly be like, bruh that was the lamest, goofiest s***"

"i pray that my nigga really didn't feel no way, and if he did, i got my chin out"

"i pray y'all forgive a nigga for the misstep"

bro apologized to himself, kendrick, and the crowd. and nothing is intentional about it man. the "Might Delete Later" vlogs were a thing before the Like That verse existed, that stops that theory right in its tracks unfortunately. he just had a revelation after doing what he did.
