Revisionist history
Nothing revisionist. God's Son is better than 2014 FHD and no one calls or called it one of the best rap albums ever made. Cole is naturally mid so when he does something decent y'all gas it up.
Y’all are really out here pressing play on Cole albums and letting them ride
That’s commendable.

This is 2024
niggas at Wale concert, of all concerts, are not booing Cole in any capacity lol
Them same niggas on twitter frying up Cole rn wym
Last time I posted my listening stats Cole was in my top 5-10. I don’t hate him at all.
FHD is a classic but let’s not pretend there isn’t a lot of s*** that goes way harder than that album
It’s not outside of the Top 150 rap albums ever.
He’s dissing both of them with that dig up dirt line
That’s what I been tryna tell them lmao anything for a W tho I guess

No it’s not
It's a forced comparison, people been making for years. They haven't really been similar since the early 10s tho.
I mean till this day I have yet to hear a York from Cole for better or worse
There have been hundreds of thousands if not millions of rap albums released in the past 45 years. If one of them is in the Top 150 ever, it’s one of the best ever released
Eh, top 150 ever is even a stretch imo
And that's only considering the albums that are actually heard by people and in the conversation, I'm not giving Cole props for dropping a better album than Chimp1 and every other bum out there
they dont get out the house much apparently
I don’t even like the “out of the house” argument but the truth is I personally have seen Cole perform not only on the FHD tour but also many other times and those songs always ring off the hardest for him. Album is still charting on the BB200 ten years later. I can talk to people and they all have fond personal memories of that music during that time. Like spare me if every track isn’t 10/10 by your standards that doesn’t take away that that album is memorable and important to a lot of folks

niggas on twitter are not at a Wale concert, you just saying s*** lmao

It’s definitely the highlight of his mediocre discography

Top 150 is not a stretch at all, I need some of y’all to be serious man
The Cole hate is warranted sometimes but y’all take it too far on here

Same I seen cole live and even met him
He’s a great rapper but his discog ain’t as special as niggas make it out to be
It’s not outside of the Top 150 rap albums ever.
If you want to make a rolling stone, HipHopHeads or pitchfork type list, sure. But if you wanna go by actual heaters then no

The fact that it’s still charting alone 10 years later cements its’ classic status. Not many pre-streaming rap albums from that long ago are still on the charts. The ones that are, are the classics
