Michael Young History is a way more creative and engaging story than GKMC.
GKMC is a great concept album but it’s nothing new just refined.
Minstrel Show is probably the greatest hip hip concept album of all time.

The Cool exists bro. Conceptually as an album it’s up there. Even thought I think TPAB is a way better album but not because of then concept.

I wonder what would happen if many other lyricist and rappers were provided better access to resources like producers and more freedoms which gets into record labels
he has had plenty of freedom to be him his whole career and he is used that to the greatest
but to me personally there are better rappers that have operated on MANY MORE RESTRICTIONS than Kendrick Lamar. That cant not be mentioned when you are comparing because their mixtape material often clear much of his commercial work and he does less mixtapes or damn near none because he doesnt need mixtapes to have freedom outside of an oppressive label
Who are those artists that u think clear his work then if that's the case?

I think the thing with GKMC is that it sticks to the concept more on it's album and has less tracks that deviate. The Cool is supposed to be about Michael Young History but then has some songs that don't have s*** to do with the concept that drag it down a bit.
Both great albums though, for some reason I associate GKMC with the spring and The Cool with the fall lol

Lupe rapping The Coolest around a classroom at Eastern Michigan engrained in my core memories
